  1. Hi Shalae from Tampa, FL. Thanks for the info & the $1400 stimulus for Social Security would be awesome.

  2. I’m sure they’ll find some reason not to do the 1400 for the senior citizens although seniors could use it very desperately but I’m sure knowing those idiots up there in the White House unless it benefits them

    1. Yep! Some seniors that’s married and retired receiving $1400-$1500 right now wit hubby retirement. So they wnt boost that amount up to $1400 watch!Smh

    2. @Teresa Johnson The way it seems, It be some mess behind each President we vote🗳in. Now I’m starting 2 believe Democrats and Republicans works together. They jus got the US🇺🇸 citizens blind fold. I wnt be voting no more, or my family.Smh

    3. @Innocent Life yes I think each vote should count!!! Not electoral votes!! We in a mess…smh

    4. If you are going to give school children EBT cards why not give seniors a 1400.00 checks. We are the ones that build this world.

    5. Exactly I’m so tired of them telling us they are going to help us and then they don’t we need it now Not January

  3. I’m happy about the ssi increase and I hope they give us the stimulus money too

    1. I also agree with you on needing
      The two payments what ever
They giving ssi. Stimulus payment is greatly appreciated
Because times are hard filling with the Pandemic and the cost
Of living and if you have kids everyone needs what ever they can get and sum.

  4. Our social security disability check should be at least 500 more a month. Because of the cost of living is going up to where we can barely make it.

    1. But I hav r not been able to make ends meet for 3 yrs now I don’t even have a winter coat haven’t been able to purchase clothing in 3 yrs its a shame we have no help

    1. Shhh….5.9 ain’t really nothing smh should of been 6.3 or 7.0 smh…1.3 was only 10$

    2. But they are saying it’s only gonna be for Senior Citizens. What age range for this to go thru.??

    3. @Yvonne Portner IDK another person said they emailed the one trying to get the 1400. For us and they said it for everyone on SSDI, SS and SSI

  5. I just read an article that said New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed a bill that will allow the homeless, the elderly, & the disabled in New York State to purchase hot prepared foods with their SNAP benefits. They will also be able to use them in some restaurants.
In 1982, I was supposed to graduate 🎓 high school but I quit school in 1980. However, I took my GED test before I would have graduated & received my GED diploma in the mail just before my class graduated in 1982.

    1. Indiana homeless can’t get hot food on EBT so we go shopping every day and we take apart the grocery cart and turn it into a grill.

  6. Plus, probably half of that increase will be taken away since my rent is based on my income. There are some programs available here in Michigan. I will say that Meals on Wheels is available for 1 meal daily. I also am eternally grateful for the Bridge Card increase as well. Although, not sure how much long that will last. Since I no longer drive, I have to have groceries delivered but it’s not too bad a cost. I don’t want to sound ungrateful. I do appreciate all that is done for me. I thank God everyday that I can at least survive.

    1. @Sue V Section 8 works like this, my rent is $1,300 I pay 30% of my income which is $344, section 8 pays $956… That manager is wrong… $30 is 30% of $100… 30% of $58 is $17.40… Your rent should be $315.40 with $40 left in your pocket… If you have a lease, your rent shouldn’t go up until your lease expires in 1, 2 or 3 years, a lease is a contract with an expiration date, not you got an increase we have to give you a new lease… I don’t live in senior housing but I believe it works the same for all lease holders… Mine expired the end of Aug, I payed the $3 increase Sept 1st not Jan 1st… Same with this year, if we get an increase Jan 2022 my rent wont go up until Sept 2022 giving me 8 months of my full $58 lol If that’s what it is

    2. yes the rent goes up every year when social security get increase the landlords are being so greedy for money and people are on a fix income so sad .I told the landlord we cant afford the rent increase he said he said pay it or vacated .

  7. Woo hoo!!!! I’m happy about the increase. While it doesn’t come close to my actual cost of living expenses, I will be grateful to receive it. BTW, I’m a “baby boomer” and was graduating high school in 1982. Thanks for the information.

  8. In 1982 my son was 5yrs old and I was a struggling single parent, I’m thankful for the SS increase, with the price of everything going up, especially food, and another Stimulus check would be really good, thank you for all your information, you’re awesome!

  11. I’m so happy to hear about the increase cause I only have 14.00 out of mine after everything is paid.

    1. Wow! A whole $14? Girl, I’m at $0 and all bills aren’t fully paid.

    2. @Anthony Lafayette When you’re 70 I really hope you still feel good enough to “ get a job”

    3. @Jewel Constance – Johari King I’ll be 81 in Feb. and I have a job. I am a welder.

    4. I don’t have that much. Little babies have been getting checks each month. Never thought it was fair.

  12. Hi lady thanks for always looking out for us. And keeping us up to date on everything. God bless you always. 🙏

  13. 1982, I was being born in January 😂😂😂 I’m glad that they are increasing the cost of living for our SSI members 🥰

  14. The increases never amounts to more spending money, but only to go toward increased rent.

    1. Hello, you are correct. People who get Social Security can’t forget about Medicare Hike. They always in my experience will grab their share before you get any of that increase.

    2. Rich get richer and the poor starves and we live in a 50-50 nation hog wash lies are lies but these rich assholes in the next life wont exist they will remain here in the dirt with there money

  15. Social Security has always given their recipients a yearly increase starting January of each year but what their not talking about is the yearly increase of the medical Insurance cost. Usually the yearly increase is enough to cover for the cost of their Medicare premiums , so technically their getting nothing from the increase because it all goes right back into the government pockets. So let’s see how much of this 5.9% increase that Social Security recipients will get!

    1. @HillsdaleGirls I’m so sorry to hear about your situation, If you need help please reach out to me, If I can help someone in anyway I’ll definitely help but your so right about the increase, if your IRT is more then a certain amount then yes it will effect your snap benefits but find out what your IRT amount is 🤔🤔

    2. What sucks is that the Government thinks they can pacify their recipients with this 5.9% increase but the ones that are paying attention knows it’s apart of their agenda

    1. That’s what everyone from my area says especially me… Cuz its true. U get low income place they cut everything back and take your f/s that you still have to come up with well I don’t know about now but years ago it was

    2. Omfg I give up I can’t never get keyboard to work I can’t keep my Internet working I can’t keep my mobile data working it’s been like this for a year at so I can go crazy

  16. Hey Friend 👋🏽 !! Shalae appreciate the great update..Anything they give would be a blessing. Praying they do give $1400 stimulus as well sure it would help some..Continued blessings to us all during these crazy times 🙌🏽

  17. If children are in need of monthly checks I definitely believe seniors, disabled, veterans and widowers are entitled to the same benefits

    1. I’m 37 years old I do get social security my husband passed away where I was on SSI I’m drawing social security off my dad and I have four kids that I’ve raised by

    2. @Clcamm Mindermann makes no sense, tell them to look at yr work record again. Appeal if u can..
