  1. I know a senior who gets $705.00 a month. Not even a 50.00 increase, elderly suffer the most in America.

    1. @cora abney I do not understand why the working people get so much money, we only get 1 check a month an we are the one that is having it hard to survive.Stevey Wonder can see that.

    2. @Cori Lbere winterize the camper I know a Lot of people in camper off grid living and they love it but yet they have 10 comforters that keep them warm

    3. If you didn’t have your individualistic views you wouldn’t suffer as much. Now you are on your own to help yourself. Or work.

    4. I’m on disability due to mental and psychical along with now auto immune issues, and I get 730 a month only and I’m a strict diet that costs nearly 400 dollars for one person, so after rent, utilities, and essentials theirs no money left over to buy myself something nice every once in a while, hell I can’t even afford to buy clothes so I’ve been wearing the same old worn out clothes and shoes for a while now

  2. Everybody will want a piece of the social security cola. What a joke.
Why can’t the USA be like other countries with the money.
This is one of those times it sucks to be a
    senior living in America

  3. It’s a lose-lose situation for those on social security, it’s an insult for those who are on social security.

    1. I worked full time for 44 years and get a below average SS check. Medicare and SS need to be strengthened. The gov. should not fund any new programs until they help the homeless, elderly, disabled and poor Americans.

    2. @BETTY BOOP I’m all for raising the cap on Social Security or eliminating it altogether. Once someone makes $150K, they stop paying into it. Most rich people reach that by February.

    3. @BETTY BOOP ya good luck they’re more worried for and about caring and taking for illegals over us so that’s a shooting star kinda wish

  4. COLA INCREASE DOESN’T AMOUNT TO A PINCH OF BEANS WE NEED MORE MONEY, CONGRESS NEEDS TO PSASS RECON BILL ONLY IF IT INCLUDE S STIMULOUS PAYMENT TO US CITIZENS.

  5. How does social security administration expect disabled individuals to live on a $1000 a month? Give them an extra $59 bucks that should help them out so much lol

    1. Well here’s the thing I haven’t worked in my life I was disabled before I was even able to work and an accident and I received no money for that accident because it was my fault nobody else got hurt by the way it was just me it was a gun accident

But my point I’m on disability I draw nothing from work and I barely get anything from disability not enough to survive..

I honestly do not receive much money at all and don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for what I do receive but it’s not enough to live on but what really kills me is they are helping people with families kids and they are helping people who go back to work but it seems like people who are on SSDI just end up screwed.

    2. @THL exactly,. Both parents work. Which is good, but our stupid government says here’s hundred’s of dollars for just having a kid. What about us. The disabled who can’t work.

    3. @THL yeah…1k a month is quite difficult when over half of that goes to your rent and bills 💸 . But we have to greateful. Gratitude is key to abundance ✨

    4. @xLeBLADEx literally I was brought up to be grateful for what I have and not wish for what I don’t have if I want something work for it make it happen but also still just be grateful for what you do have because a lot of other people don’t have much of anything

  6. Yes..it’s a raise..if that’s what you think..but look at this..your insurance will go up and so will your prescription..so where is the raise..

    1. I get 8k a year in disability and that’s far far far far far the fucking heck away from anywhere god damn close to the poverty line

    2. People say well ssi recipients havnt worked or paid into taxes but not true it takes years waiting for appoval wich during that time to prove your disabillity your told dnt work during this time then to get your ssd you have to show proof of recent jobs within 2-3 yrs after your told not to work during your 5-6 yrs waiting so automatically they have to put no record of recent working so you end up with now ssi wich is a total of 841$ mnth to live on and if you work even 15 hrs week some is taken away from your ssi if you buy a car a house if possible thars considerd assetts and could lose most of your income if you try to have a savings acct they know about it then you get like 172$ for a month snap for food wich after the 47$ cola raise they deduct 22$ from your snap now biden says he sees no need for a 4 th stimulas to anyone except families he truly believes the economy is doin just fine this is,a long text but just had to vent ou the truth

  7. They give you a raise and all your bills go up that’s how the system works so you’re still in the same shoe

  8. Yes, but now Medicare costs are going up dramatically so it’s always a lose-lose for the people and a gain-gain for the government.

    1. They say the average SS recipient gets $1500+ a month I don’t know anyone gets that much? Medicare and the cost of my Medicare part D both went up leaving me worse off than I was before this so called COLA.

    2. Why waiting on $2000 monthly when you can earn thousands in few days…I’m so glad 🙂 I found this amazing philanthropist ☝️☝️, he got the best financial service 💯

  9. The surprisingly big jump in Medicare Part B premiums for 2022 reflects the sky-high cost of a controversial Alzheimer’s disease drug. The premium hike will put more than a dent in the newly increased Social Security cost-of-living allowance, which worked out to $92 a month for the average retired worker

    1. Also reflects the huge cost of taking care of Covid patients who got hospitalized because they weren’t vaccinated.

    2. I got 2 letters from SS. The increase in medicare and drugs brought my $90 down to $47 a month. When you consider inflation like gas, food, lodging increases. Seniors get $0. Thats my( 2 cents )worth!

  10. WOO HOO!! After they TAKE ALL of the increases to my Medicare and Social Security, I’ll have an extra $12.00 per month increase. I’m sure that Me getting an extra $12.00 per month will Infuriate the Rich Politicians. They will work harder at trying to figure out how to take this away from me, while increasing their pay by $ thousands per month.

    1. Consider your self lucky with $12. I’ll no longer have a phone, basic necessities (shampoo, dish soap, etc), food, etc after the Medicare raise.

    2. @Gwen Davis Check on the government programs to get free or little cost phone and internet services in your area. You can even get a free phone and some give a free laptop or a $100 check for the laptop. At&t offers this service but there’s many more that offer it. God bless.

  11. I just started on SSI and SSDI in August 2021 and am already under a review for SSI. Are they broke and go after cutting ppl off to save them from raising next year?

    1. @Clem literally everything you said, you can’t force people to do something they don’t want to, even if it’s in their supposed best interest.

Everyone can agree, forcing someone to do something against their will is bad. Yet the government still forced us to be part of social security. it’s wrong.

Like I said, or as Walter Williams once said “let me rely on charity or die in the streets, but stop forcing me to pay into this bankrupt program called social security”

    2. @Mike Well, maybe they should stop making us pay taxes . Forcing us to pay taxes is forcing us to do something against our will.

    3. @Clem I think you’re being sarcastic but I actually agree. Income tax is theft. It assumes the government has a right to your income.
So is property tax, and estate taxes.

We didn’t have income taxes until 1913.
Florida has 0% state income tax, Florida does not crash and burn into a heap of misery. They still have roads etc.

There are other means of taxation, besides robbing peoples incomes, but that will probably never change. People say “muh roads” as if the government spends our money wisely, it doesn’t.

The NYC government spends 3 million dollars building public bathrooms, that representative of how government is so in efficient and wasteful.

    4. @Mike Yeah, 3 million on bathrooms in NY is a waste, when most people use the streets for toilets anyway! You didn’t mention Federal income taxes. How do you feel about those?

    5. @Clem if I don’t like state income tax I don’t like federal either idk why you’re asking that as if I’m gonna give a different answer.

  12. It is unfair to put senior citizens on a formula which keep them begging for bread….We are citizens that worked most of our life and now we live in poverty…..Government does less for seniors and veterans, etc……We need help to pay our bills and to buy food.

    1. The amount that should be given to vets and seniors is given to illegal immigrants who has never put in any work time in America or paid taxes.

  13. The people that own the building raise my rent 8%. About $92 a month? Who gets $1600 a month? What we actually get is between $750 and $825, making their “generous 5.9%” worth $35. So by the time Medicare goes up, I’ll be at least $45 in the red. The increase (😂) will cause SNAP benifits to go down. It was hard enough eating on $14 a week. Probably only $9 a week. That’s $1.29 a day for all 3 meal. So this so called raise is a slap in the face and a fast lane to starvation.

    1. I hear you it is a slap in the face and that sucks. The more people make on SS the more they get and that’s not fair.

    2. Ya I had to move states cause I couldn’t find an affordable house, my rent was 200 and got jacked up to 550 for less than 1200 sqf

  14. What we get in the cola increases, the bills are increasing above the cola amount given to us.
Evertime we get a Social Security increase , everything else jumps up in prices to take away our increase.
    Not right in Society.

  15. Investing in Crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in few months Time you will be ecstatic about the decision you made today.

    1. Trading without the help of a professional in the cryptomarket is like gambling with your money.

    2. Mr Nick Maverick has been managing my trades for months now and I make profits weekly. Just Last week I Cashed out $23k

    3. Its so generous of Nick Maverick to find out time to help investors on their investments, although he has a team of professionals. I’m so grateful,he turned my 0.3BTC to 2.1BTC.

  16. Medicare increased, supplemental medical coverage increased, Coverage D for drugs went up. After the increases in medical costs the net increase will be for me 60% of the 5.9% . Nice to have but food costs are dramatically increasing also so there is some help on food but less than $50 a month.

  17. The cost of living since this covid epidemic started has totally exceeded this 5.9% COLA increase. Add to that, the increase in Medicare part D has gone up. In my case, with the Medicare increase in part D premiums, the 5.9% COLA increase is reduced to 3.4%.
