A bi-partisan group of republican and democrat lawmakers shared this week that they want to see a smaller, more people focused stimulus package in light of high inflation and omicron disruption. This just came out so more details need to be revealed still. However, the republicans said we’ve done enough for businesses and people keeping their job. Now is the time to help a select group of struggling Americans. Many democrats want to see Biden keep his promise on student loan forgiveness. Or perhaps executive order to get rid of student loan interest accruing against these loans. Or maybe a 401k like program where employers match employees student loan payments to increase the pay off time frame.

@J S what did they do to you that was so bad? Stephen seems to be doing really well under their “run”. Perhaps you are a victim with a victim mindset always looking for someone to blame. If you are not doing well, nobody put a gun to your head and said take this path. You took the path yourself and failed all by yourself.

Giving stimulus check to people that make a lot of money is a mistake…..low income people and seniors, they need the help right now…..!!!!

If people can’t buy food to feed themselves or their families, medications or pay their rent/mortgages they should get a check. then they need to fix the SS system and SSDI
@Rich Lang they do need to fix the SS system. For married couples we only get$560 and $630 for SSI and barely anything to get food with food assistance

@KK KK That’s why peanut butter is now the majority of my protein. If you like eggs, they are an excellent source of protein and probably still the cheapest source. Unfortunately, I can’t stand them myself. I do get canned tuna sometimes also. You just have to change the way you think about meals…..meat isn’t necessary for every meal! Just hang in there!
All I can say is that I have little to no faith in our Government!

I do believe we would all appreciate a Stimulus check, especially Seniors on a fixed income as I am. Tomorrow I will turn 80, and found out a few weeks ago my Grandson & I have to move by Feb.1. This was totally unexpected & we are doing our best to find another place. Inflation is affecting everything including rent. I feel very sorry for all Seniors trying to make ends meet at this time. I am blessed to have my Grandson to help, others are not so fortunate. Thank you Stephen for always bringing us the truth.

Thanks Stephen for all you do for us. Biden needs to focus on what he has done to this country.
I used to watch your channel and a few others daily! However, my mental health could no longer take the complete lack of care and self serving focus of our government. It became the same thing every. single. day. Bottom line, we are ALL desperate for help, and our government is refusing to do so. I really hope this new package in discussion has some much needed assistance to those who are suffering the most ie Elderly, disabled, vets, low and fixed incomes. They were PROMISED help and they received NOTHING. I admire you for continuing to give us daily updates, even when there is no change and how frustrating our government is. They need to open their eyes, or come midterms they are going to realize how badly they handled this pandemic.
@Norma Valadez — regardless of what dollar figure they might give, it won’t be enough….. just too little too late….. how do they think a stimulus every 7 months or so really helps for any long term. You talk about some democrats are upset about Biden not keeping his promise on forgiveness of student loans what about the promise of 200 each month to SS?? He doesn’t keep any promises! At least he is consistent that’s about the best you can say. In regards to the frog I don’t think I would go have a fit but at the same time I wouldn’t be able to keep the frog because I have cats so it would never live in my house they would not eat it but they would play with it until they killed it, that’s kind of just what cats do so if it was summertime I’d probably release it and I’d also throw away the salad, if it was winter time which it is right now here very cold, bitter wind, ice and snow on the way well then I’d have to find somebody very quickly to take it. I guess I don’t know what good going back and yelling and screaming at the grocery store is going to do, plus that’s too much time and energy I’m not interested in that I’m an old lady plus I’m handicap it’s not worth my time or my effort but as I said I couldn’t keep it.

I agree with you and fed the same. I find myself depressed with everything In my life, I’m struggling just like a lot of people, I’m alone to deal with all this myself. I’m becoming very angry with a lot of things especially the government. All this negativity is weighing on me. You really can’t or shouldn’t go anywhere, do anything, see anyone-/ I’m becoming a recluse. I used to go out to dinner once or twice a month with friends-. That all stopped last year-/ cold turkey!! Now even if I felt I could- now can’t afford it. One of the saddest things I think I’ve heard is when Stephen said we may never get back to the old normal. He’s probably right but it’s another sad thought. The one thing I really wish would be if everyone in the government could feel and deal with what us regular people have to deal with. None of this stuff effects the rich.

@Norma Valadez Absolutely! Any assistance they give (if they even do) is too little too late at this point. They had their opportunity to show the American people they do fight for us, but sadly they showed they only care about their pet projects and lining their pockets. They fought so HARD for stimulus checks when republicans were in control, because they knew they could blame them when it didn’t pass. We at least received checks in 2020, and only ONE last year with democrats in control. We need new uncorrupted unselfish people in all parties, time to completely revamp congress.
Sadly, the student loan debt reduction only addresses federally back loans and does nothing to address the predatory loan practices of private student loan companies and the mountains of debt they are holding over people’s heads nor does it address the fact that those are the only businesses to offer loans that are exempt from bankruptcy. Simply allowing people in debt to declare bankruptcy alone, would do so much to help the American people.
I am a sr and live on a fixed income. Another stimulus check would be very much needed. Thank you for keeping us Informed Stephen. I appreciate you

If a smaller bill is necessary, it should include the $2,000.00 stimulus checks that was promised to us last summer!! So many people are in desperate need of help. Lol, being from Oklahoma, and my grandparents having a farm when I was a kid, it’s not unusual to find more than you bargained for in your food, ha!! I would have probably let the frog 🐸 go if it was warm enough. Couldn’t let one loose today, it’d be a frozen 🥶 🐸. Thank you for all you do! I think the student loans should have interest reduced or totally eliminated . I do not have student loans , but my heart goes out to All who have them .
I Hope HR1 does Not Pass ! The illegals should not be allowed to vote IMO and the federal government has plenty of power without control over elections . States should have control of their own elections .

Thank you Stephen for all that you do for us and keeping us informed. A stimulus for fixed income and low people really need a stimulus and it needs to be a stand alone bill so it can get to the people quickly. I’m on SSDI and people like me are really struggling that little bit of a cola only raised my check $61, which I know is more than I had, but we are still having a hard time
