1. A 4th stimulus or recurring monthly check will not make me want to leave my part time job.. They need to stop thinking so negatively. Not having it is hurting people! No eviction moratorium or help, at least not here in Nevada. I’ve been waiting for rent assistance since November!

   5. This money is for a boost to the economy as we get it we spend it bills shopping etc I just received my 1st ever stimulus was never depending on it but I’m thankful it came at the right time

2. Businesses complain about no help. Raise their prices when they hear consumer with stimulus checks.
   Consumers go broke,have to work and pay businesses for their NOW high prices…..Around and around we go into the ground.

   2. They are not raising prices just because they heard people got a stimulus check. They are raising prices due to costs going up and because they can (supply and demand). Lumber, steel, oil, corn have all skyrocketed in price since the “pandemic”. I had to break it to you but if the price of oil increases it brings everything up with it. As far as it being temporary we will see. If an employer has to raise employees wages and in turn increase prices to customers do you think all these employers will turn around and reduce pay overnight to fix prices? Doubt it. Once contractors see people are willing to spend double to renovate their home or pay for x service do you think they are gonna go back to charging less overnight because material costs dropped? My guess is probably not.

      Labor costs right now are outrageous with no basis in reality whatsoever. 20 minutes to repair part of my roof? $700. 3 hours to do some chimney repairs? $2k. 2 hours to pop a hole in the wall and run new piping for a dryer through crawl space? $1500. Want an egress window? Multiple quotes for $5k-$6k and its not even a day of work. Want to replace those damaged bay windows? Multiple quotes for $6k-10k. These prices are not going anywhere.

   4. @T V I see your point. And your probably right. I was simply being sarcastic. And as for oilfield (that’s my career) it’s never going to drop. And its about to get even crazier. We have 50% of our ships full of foreign oil just sitting in the ocean. And before we dock them here in the U.S. The oil price is going to jump tremendously and our government & owners will cash in big time. As for the business’s I was talking about. I apologize. I’m meant to be specific about the smaller ones. Such as private repairmen, mechanics with home businesses, even down to a person selling a used car to one another. They raise their prices because of stimulus rounds. Even some have admitted to it without shame. And it’s only getting worse.

   5. People need to cut back on spending! If you think something is too expensive whatever it is then don’t buy it. As long as people are willing to pay those high prices then prices will continue to go up!

5. being lazy is a mindset, not defined by stopping stimulus payments which is a generous break to the public. I work a full-time job and me getting a stimulus made me more than happy to purchase what I need that I couldn’t afford with a full-time job alone. I am single, male, and in college with no children or record. And I thank God for my status and what he has done for me in my life to keep me and provide for me. Free money will not cause people to be lazy, but will cause productive people to be even more productive, and lazy people to be even more lazy

Gov and tell them that you haven’t received your stimulus money ? or call the IRS directly, or start writing letters phone calls emails to all your local and state officials.

16. Do you really think people could live on $3200 for an entire year last year? That’s what I used to make in a month. So no, no matter how frugal I was, I could not survive on $3200 during the lockdown. Damn. You’d think this was the 1930s. Luckily for me, I worked right through. These people are so out of touch with reality.

    1. Then perhaps you need to adjust your lifestyle. I can manage on $2000 a month because I don’t have a car payment, I rent versus own, among other things. But I also made choices to live on less even though I could probably afford more.

19. Add up the hospital bills having to go to the Emergency Rooms for a breathing treatment due to COVID pnemonia. $ 2000.00 reoccurring checks to American citizens. The Delta variant is on the way and some countries already moving to lock down. Medical bills for COVID with complications will run $ 20 grand for American citizens in the hospital.
